STEVEN M. SARWIN

Managing Director

Steven is a Managing Director of Sloan Capital and a seasoned M&A and capital advisor for private businesses worldwide. He has more than 25 years of Wall Street (Citigroup / Salomon Smith Barney) and middle market investment banking experience, executing 30+ M&A transactions totaling $3.0 billion enterprise value.

Prior to joining Sloan Capital, Steven was Senior Vice President at Allegiance Capital Corporation, a Dallas-based, middle-market M&A firm. Partnering with John Sloan, Steven closed two significant oil field service transactions, resulting in significant enterprise value for their privately held, family-owned clients. John and Steven were honored with the Energy Deal of the Year by the M&A Advisor Awards.

Steven’s career has been truly global, including positions as International Staff Vice President at Citigroup (NYC/Peru), Head of Citibank Peru M&A, Head of Citibank Peru Global Derivatives, and Vice President at Salomon Smith Barney - Latin America Investment Banking Division (NYC/Miami/Caribbean).

In addition, Steven independently founded Sarwin Capital LLC, a middle market investment advisory firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions, valuations, hedge fund management, real estate investments, and derivatives trading structures.

Desiring to give to those in extreme poverty, Steven was a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras, where he was an International Business Consultant, founding two macro-enterprises. He was honored by the United States government with the Outstanding Peace Corps Award for his service from 1991 to 1993.

Steven attended the University of Texas at Austin on an ROTC Naval Scholarship, received his BBA from East Tennessee State University, earned his MBA/MIM from Thunderbird School of Global Management, and received specialized tax and accounting certifications. With 10 years of independent studies, Steven is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Development & Strategy.
